tarted in late 1997 by me, Justin Bernardo (19 at the time) after all of the local high end mtb shops went belly up. Armed with minimal dough and a dream JB Mountain Bikes was started in a garage behind a building in Shillington, PA. The place did the job, but it was what you could call a hole in the wall. We started with Kona and Ross/Barracuda as our principal lines. Months went by, we gradually built up the stock (which at first was pathetic) and stocked more and more bikes. After we made it through our first winter we were all set for the Spring. After about a year in our garage location we moved across the street into a much better retail showroom, though it still wasn't THAT pretty.

A bit more time went by and we were able to start stocking some high end frames. I had personally worked with Spooky Cycles at my place of employment before opening up my own shop, so they were the first obvious choice. We stared with 1 Junebug frame, and before we knew it, we had a couple Darksides too. Well, after that, the rest is pretty much history. We started carrying Ellsworth in the winter of our time in that shop. Within no time we were selling frames/custom builds constantly. Shipping UPS, and having guys drive from as far as 2 states away just to see our shop!! No one else stocks this stuff!!! After maybe 8 months at that location, we needed a larger (and MUCH nicer) place to show our stuff. We have been in our present location since 2002 and even though it is still a bit on the small side, it is way too nice to move anytime soon.

So now we usually have 6 or 7 Ellsworth frames in stock, and about a dozen of other high-end frames. Custom frame up builds have become our specialty, we can help design a bike for you that will knock your socks off!! We arent the biggest (by far) but we have the most personal knowledge (by far) of the products that we carry. I personally talk to Ellsworth probably 5 times a week at least, keeping up to date on the newest products, checking availability, or just placing orders. The same goes for all of the other manufacturers too. This is why we are the ones you should chooes to build your dream bike. We have the knowledge that the others don't. That, and if your too far to come to our store personally, we have the most extensive pics of our products on the internet. In most cases, our pages are WAY more extensive than that of the manufacturers!! Just remember this when you are looking at a pic of a frame on our site. We took the time to do it right, and let you see the frame right in your house or work. Other mail-order mtb shops will only offer the same pic that the manufacturer has (and they usually suck).

We take the time to do it right, not the fastest and easiest way possible (like everyone else). We are constantly offering new products and competing with the big guys.
